One of the more common side effects of both classes of antipsychotics is Tardive Dyskinesias.  Dyskinesias are movement disorders that are involuntary and repeating movements of the body or face.

Examples are:
•    Movements of the tongue—thrusting the tongue in and out of the mouth or licking motions
•    Smacking of the lips
•    Movements of the fingers
•    Blinking  eye or eyes
•    Arm or leg movements
